Course Overview

Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management provides students with skills and knowledge for employment in frontline and management positions in the broad hospitality industry.

The structure of the course includes practical skills training in food and beverage, housekeeping, front office and catering plus specialist supervisory and management units, which are delivered in an action-learning context.

It aims to develop hospitality management/supervisory skills, including financial operations, business plans, recruitment and selection of staff, leading and managing people, legal and industrial relations studies, project management, budgeting, customer service, e-business and marketing.

Career Opportunities

This course is suitable for people who are interested in a career in the hospitality industry, including hotels, motels, restaurants, clubs, and other hospitality establishments.

Graduates are awarded with 2 years advanced standing of a three year  Bachelor of Business Administration – Hospitality Management, at the University of Tasmania.  The degree involves one full year and 2 units undertaken over a Summer School.
